Chapter 7

Ana got scared when Franco didn’t come home. She tried calling his cell. He didn’t pick up. Rafael told her not to worry.

“I’m sure he ran into friends,” Rafael said. “I bet they’re talking about the game.”

Later, Franco was still not home. Rafael was worried now. He called Coach Brock.

“Hi, Coach, this is Rafael Silva. I’m sorry to call so late. But Franco hasn’t come home. We’re worried. Do you know where he is?”

“I don’t know, Mr. Silva. Let me make a few calls,” Coach Brock answered. Now he was worried too.

Coach Brock called everyone on the team. No one had seen Franco.

Ana started to cry. Rafael called the police.

The police found Franco’s car in the mall parking lot. It was after midnight. Was he kidnapped?
